The vision of the
Iowa State University Women's Club
is to create unity through friendship and promote a sense of belonging, with
each other and within the community, as we grow and have an impact on our
society. |
Iowa State University Women's Club is a
social and service organization for women associated with Iowa State
University (ISU) at Ames, Iowa. The club was founded in 1897 by the
faculty wives and female faculty who desired an organization to promote
the social interaction of faculty and help integrate new faculty
families into the Iowa State University and Ames communities. The Club
continues to welcome and involve women of various interests, ages, and
experiences and to provide opportunities for individual growth and
enrichment. Membership is open to any woman who supports the vision and
mission of the Club.
Over the years club members have grown and adapted to the
changing roles of women. The club has a long tradition of community
service to ISU and Ames and a proud heritage of supporting the
scholarly development of women students at ISU through its annual
scholarship award program.
Monthly programs and a wide variety
of
interest groups provide opportunities
for members to expand their intellectual and social horizons.
Iowa State University Women's Club is eagerly seeking new
